Daniel DeMasters

Coach DeMasters comes to the Birmingham area by way of the greater Philadelphia area in Pennsylvania. After spending five successful years leading the boys soccer program at Oak Mountain High School, DeMasters accepted a new position with Alabaster City Schools in July 2018. As Director of Soccer, he oversees Alabaster school soccer programs, grades 7-12. In addition, he is the Head Coach of the girls soccer team and teaches Mathematics at Thompson High School. 

While at Oak Mountain, the Eagles reached the state playoffs each year. They appeared in the state championship game the first four years, and won three straight class 7A State Championships from 2015 to 2017. His teams hold the AHSAA record for the most consecutive wins in boys soccer with 45. Most notably, his 2016 squad went undefeated with a 28-0-2 record, earned a #1 national ranking by the NSCAA and Top Drawer Soccer, and set several AHSAA records. Adding to these impressive team accomplishments, DeMasters was also named 2016 Alabama AHSAA Coach of the Year.

Coach DeMasters also has extensive coaching experience at the collegiate, club, clinic, and camp levels. In 2010 and 2011, he was an Assistant Men's Soccer Coach at Division III Eastern University (St. David's, PA), and in 2012 he served as the Head Men's Soccer Coach at Division II West Chester University (West Chester, PA). DeMasters has spent several summers working at various collegiate soccer camps along the east coast, including the United States Naval Academy (Division I), West Virginia University (Division I), Villanova University (Division I), and Eastern University (Division III). He also served as the Co-Director for Star Soccer Academy, the longest running youth camp in the United States. 

He played his collegiate soccer at Division I Villanova University, where he captained the team while earning All-Region and All-Conference honors. In high school, he was a three-time NSCAA High School All-American, and the Pennsylvania Gatorade Player of the Year. He played in the U-16 and U-17 U.S.A. National Soccer Team Pool, and won a U-15 USYSA Boy's National Championship with his club team, F.C. Delco. He also represented the United States on the USYSA Region 1 Olympic Development team throughout several countries in Europe that include Spain, France, Austria and Germany, playing against renowned youth clubs Athletico Madrid, FC Barcelona, FC Porto, Ajax, Bayern Munich, and the Brazil, France and Austrian Youth National Teams.

 Coach DeMasters established Dynamic Development training in 2014, and runs his very own youth soccer camp each summer. He is excited to continue to develop youth soccer in the U.S. and Alabama, and prides himself on the fun environment of his camp and the high level of coaching each camper receives.
